Bastrop Fire Relief Effort Update

Bastrop County is currently distributing items to individuals affected by the recent wildfires. These items are being distributed out of the the Rundell Distribution Center located at 704 Highway 71 West and the Smithville Distribution Center located at 210 Main St., in Smithville.

With thousands of persons severely impacted by the Bastrop fire the greatest need is for monetary donations. Any size of monetary donation is welcome.

Ample materials and food donations have been received, thanks, in part, to the generosity of the many citizens around the county and state. As such, no further acceptance of material donations will be processed until the supply of current materials has been depleted.

Again, the need for monetary donations is great. Please visit bcmatx.org or bastroprelief.org/ donate to donate online. Checks and gift cards can be dropped off at the Emergency Operation Center located at the Bastrop Convention Center, 1408 Chestnut St. These items can also be sent to Bastrop Christian Ministerial Alliance (BCMA), PO Box 876, Bastrop, TX 78602.

There is currently a need for individuals to aid in the movement of materials between warehouses. Those with access to 12 foot or greater moving trucks, as well as 18-wheelers who wish to donate their services, are asked to contact 214-907-6809.

For more information regarding donations please contact the Bastrop Christian Ministerial Alliance at 512-332-8997, or bastroprelief.org
