Word Wrangler Festival

Lexington native, Sheryl Kleinschmidt, whose first novel, “Rest in Peace on the Yegua” will be featured.

The 6th Annual Word Wrangler Festival is scheduled for this Friday at the Giddings Library. The Giddings Public Library and Cultural Center, along with the Giddings Chamber of Commerce, invites everyone to this “Celebration in Creativity” in Lee County. About 20 authors have been invited to come and spend the day at the Library for readings, excerpts and book signings at individual author stations. The festival will also include a special program honoring our Home-Town Heroes.

Featured authors include Lexington native, Sheryl Kleinschmidt, whose first novel entitled “Rest in Peace on the Yegua” will be featured. Other authors who will be there with their work are Lara Chapman, Elaine Coleman, Rose Cook, R. Wayne Edwards, Debra Frontiera, Diane Garner, Martha Hannah, Doug Hiser, Texas Ranger Joaquin Jackson, Brooklyn James, Mike Kearby, JoAn Martin, Caleb Pirtle, III, Alan Rein, Marilyn Sebasta, Dee Pipes (Dee Wilbur), Bob Spoede, MG Viellesca and Charles Yates (Dee Wilbur).

Friday’s festival starts at 9 a.m. and will continue until 5 that afternoon. The event is free.

A fundraising Gala will be held Thursday night, September 8, at 7 p.m. in order to help raise funds for this and future Word Wrangler events.
