Lady Eagles Deposit Dime Box

Lexington defeated Dime Box in three games Tuesday for their sixth win of the 2011 season. The Lady Eagles were totally dominant in games one and two. Lexington lost a little focus and Dime Box gained experience from the first two to be more competitive.

In game one Lexington was leading 6-3 when Brittany Nichol started serving. Nichol served 12 consecutive points as Lexington moved out to an 18-3 lead. The Lady Eagles then cruised to a 25-6 win in game one.

In game two, Lexington was totally dominant again as they won 25-5. Johnna Alford, Aleece Moerbe, and Madeline Morton got kills as Lexington soared to a decisive win.

In game three, Lexington got off to a good start, and then lost focus. Dime Box also gained composure as they began to come together as a team. Dime Box actually led 13-12 before the Lady Eagles refocused. Johnna Alford ended the match with an emphatic kill to end the game and match 25- 17.

The Lady Eagles played without Head Coach Kym Aldrich, who was called away with a family sickness. Kevin Patschke and Marla Mitchell stepped up to lead the team.

Lexington is now 6-2 for the season.
