Farm Bureau Gives Money to Fire Departments



The Texas Farm Bureau, represented by Charles Benton (far left) and the Lee-Bastrop County Farm Bureau represented by Mike Organ (far right) presented checks totaling $1,800 to the Lee County area Volunteer Fire Departments for their efforts this summer in battling wildfires. Organ said, “This is the first time the Texas Farm Bureau has made this donation, having made it one of their goals this year to support local volunteer fire departments. Each of the nine VFDs in Lee County received $200, $50 of which was donated by the local Farm Bureau office and $150 of which was donated by the state office.” Pictured with their checks are Bob Cary, Fedor VFD; Kenny Martin, Tanglewood VFD; Donnie Milburn, Lexington VFD; Ben Berg, Blue Branch VFD; Delvin Boriack, South Lee County VFD; and Jimmy Mitschke, Giddings VFD.
