Methodist Youth Fellowship Enjoy a Busy Summer
Wow! This has been an amazing summer at Lexington United Methodist Church for the Methodist Youth Fellowship. The MYF has met to do fun things like swimming and water games and Austin Park and Pizza. We took 21 youth to church camp had a great time and watched God move in mighty ways.
Our High School mission trip (UMARMY) in Athens, Texas and Junior High mission trip (Big House) in Wharton, Texas blessed our youth more than it blessed those we served. MYF has also been so excited to help in the community by mowing the yard of a woman who recently had a fall at home and also helped repair the her porch steps. The MYF also deep cleaned the church sanctuary one Tuesday.
We are excited about what is coming up this fall as well. On Sunday evenings starting August 28th at 6 p.m., we will have Quench, our youth Bible Studies; 7th and 8th grade will be doing the “Bullies and Mean Girls” Bible Study and the 9th through 12th grade will be doing “World Religions and Christianity.”
Quench will also meet weekly on Wednesday at 7 p.m. starting August 24 for games and youth-led devotion.
On Wednesday September 7 at 3:35 p.m. (after school) we will start Link, our new 5th & 6th grade program, geared to meet the specific needs of the tween years. Link will meet at the same time as M&M’s and will be partnering with M&M’s in Wednesday after school programs.
