In the picture above, Coach Jason Holcomb addresses the parents of the student athletes who will be participating in any of a number of sports this new school year. In addition to speaking directly to the parents of these athletes, Coach Holcomb also introduced his coaching staff, who in turn introduced their athletes to the crowd. The event was “Meet the Eagles”, an annual happening that is the official kick off to another academic year in the Lexington School District. Everyone in attendance enjoyed a meal of spaghetti prepared by parents and members of the Lexington Athletic Association. PHOTO BY MIKE ORGAN. Coby Robertson earned 3rd out of 12 at ZAT Back to School Tournament held at A&M in College Station this past weekend. Coby’s first match was played at 8 a.m. Saturday morning. He lost this match 8-6. He then played his next match at 1 p.m. and defeated his opponent 8-4. His next match was played at 3 in the afternoon, where he defeated his opponent 8-6. This win put him playing for 3rd place at 6 in the evening. Despite the long day of games, Coby did win 8-0, earning him the 3rd place medal.
