Eagles to Scrimmage at Caldwell

by Mike Organ

The Lexington football team will take its first snaps against an opponent Saturday morning as they have a controlled scrimmage against the Caldwell Hornets. Lexington is coming off one of the most successful seasons in school history. Caldwell is coming off a disappointing 8-2 season that saw them miss the playoffs on point differential in district play.

Lexington has maintained its core of coaches with Jason Holcomb leading the charge and defensive coordinator Kirk Muhl back to lead the defense. Chris Koester, Lyon Lofland, Craig Finley, and Dylan Conway return. Jarad Richards and Michael Williams join the staff. Richards returns from Rockdale to be the offensive coordinator.

Caldwell has lost their head coach to A&M Consolidated. They also hired two Lexington coaches, Jeff Rogers and Charlie Tucker for their new staff.

The scrimmage is usually spirited and very, very competitive.
