Fayette County Country Music Club

The Fayette County Country Music Club will host their monthly Opry on Monday, August 15, 2011 at the KC Hall in La Grange. The show starts at 7:30 P.M. and the doors will open at 5:30 P.M. This month we are featuring:

BEN BRADY is originally from the New England area and found his musical roots at the age of 18 years old singing Gospel music in church. After a year or so, he moved out to the Wickenburg, AZ area and started singing in honky- tonks throughout Arizona and New Mexico. The influence of gospel music was always with him. For more than 36 years, Ben has been singing and playing his 12 string guitar for the enjoyment of anyone who loves country music. Now a resident of Maxwell, Texas with his wife Kristie, he says, “I may not have been born a Texan, but I am one now and I got here as soon as I could.” He has written several songs about his life experiences, as well as an awardwinning song, Praise God! My Lord Still Lives!, honored by the New Mexico Baptist Association.

SALLY CARLSON is no stranger to the Texas opry scene. She started over seventeen years ago with the opening show in Giddings. She has since added Yoakum, Edna, Victoria, Cuero, Corpus, and Lockhart, just to name a few. She loves singing and making new friends. Sally has been blessed to be a member of several bands, including The Circle C band from San Antonio, Texas from Gonzales and Southern Express from Halletsville. She currently has her own band called Best Friends. Sally also plays in the band for the New Braunfels Opry on the third Tuesday of each month. She was raised on a farm south of Seguin and now lives on 10 acres with her two children, Kyle and Jennifer, in the Geromino area.

KEITH HICKLE started his life after high school as a firefighter and railroad conductor. In 2010, Keith’s life took an unexpected career shift. After teaching himself how to play the guitar, he found himself on stage for the first time singing at a talent show in La Grange where he won first place. After that it was all uphill when he moved to New Braunfels to pursue his music career. Only after a few months of being in New Braunfels, he was chosen to be the front man for the Break-N-Even band. After having the opportunity to open for bands like Bart Crow, Todd Fritsch, and Wade Bowen, he started writing original songs. Only a month after he started writing his own songs, he was chosen to play at the Shinerbock Rising Star series in New Braunfels. Although Keith won’t say that he has one artist in general that has influenced him, listening to his music you can tell he has rock, country and soul wrapped up in great music. In less than a year of singing and playing music he has achieved more than most artists.

AARON GROSS is a local musician who started playing music at the age of three when he would sit in with his grandparents’German band. Ever since those days he’s had music pumping through his veins. Aaron has shared the stage with some of his peers and idols such as Johnny Bush, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Eli Young Band and No Justice, just to name a few, and was blessed enough to hear his band’s music get extensive radio play. If you are just a plain out live music fan, don’t miss this soulful singer song writer.

So be sure to be with us on Monday, August 15, for another great night of entertainment.
