Country Music Monday

A bit of Branson comes to the Country Music Monday stage on August 1 at 7:30 p.m. with stars Wade Benson Landry, Rick Cavender, Jerrod Sterrett and Sally Carlson. Wade Benson Landry has played in Branson, Missouri frequently and now brings to Giddings a great show by a great showman. His specialty is Country Western Swing, Gospel music, and, for humor, which he enjoys, Cajun Comedy. His reviews are of the highest praise.

Rick Cavender is known for his voice and his personality. He has opened and performed for some of the hottest stars on the Country music scene. He is known for delivering a great show with great sound and musicianship. He is a Country Music musician and recording artist that is sure to add much to a great show.

Jerrod Sterrett comes to us from our neighboring town of Navasota and presents an exciting stage performance with a mixture of classic country favorites, Texas country, blues, rockabilly, and rock influenced songs. Added to that repertoire are his original songs, which prove to be real crowd pleasers. Jerrod has been playing for many years and currently has his own band called “The Hired Guns”. Critics tell us one minute they are going wild on stage and the next they are into a melodic love song.

Added to the list of the August first performers is a regular favorite, Sally Carlson, and the regular Country Music Monday Band.

Lone Star Opry/Country Music Monday is sponsored by the Rotary club of Giddings and is held on the first Monday of every month and is in its 19th year of production. It is the goal of Rotary to bring to the Giddings area good entertainment at a nominal price. It is held at the new Giddings High School Cafetorium on Highway 77 one mile north of downtown Giddings. Show time is 7:30 p.m. with the doors open at 5:15. Admittance to Country Music Monday is $5. Assisted parking and food is available.
