Blok, Havard Honored

Kaelan Blok, Lexington’s do it all senior and Donnie Havard, the Eagles charismatic second baseman, were given honorable mention all-state status in the Texas Sportswriters/Collin Street Bakery balloting.

Blok received mention as an outfielder. He batted .429 for the season on 39 of 91 plate appearances. Blok had three doubles, a triple and home run in the 39 hits. This concludes an eventful and busy spring for Blok.

Havard batted .402 with 35 hits in 89 official trips to the plate. Donnie had eight doubles, three triples, and a home run this season. He stole 12 bases for the Eagles and had a season fielding average of .959.

Both youngsters scored 26 runs this season. Blok had 23 RBI’s and Havard 13.

Zach Brashear of Cameron was chosen as the best 2A player in the state for the 2011 baseball season.
