Lee County 4-Hers Rock at the 4-H District Horse Show!

The Lee County Texas Stars 4- H Horse club members rocked this past week at the 4-H DISTRICT 9 HORSE SHOW hosted in College Station June 21-22.

The Precision Drill Team won District Reserve Champion (2nd) out of 5 competitive teams. Team members competing were Amber Schuze, Amber Smith, Justin Ender, Sonora Vogelsang, Colton Robertson, Jodie Taylor, Whitney Walker, Madison Pilkinton, Jacy Taylor and Cody Messer.

Winners in other events were: Barrels (76 competitors) - 13th Sonora Vogelsang, 15th Leslie Knobloch, Stakes ( 43 competitors) - 5th Jacy Taylor, 12th Maddie Pilkinton, Team Penning (20 teams) - 6th Place Team Rachel Edwards, Mason Vecera & Leslie Knobloch.

Drill Master & Club Manager April Vecera & Horsemanship Coach Wayne Marcle were very proud of the club members participating. The club will be in Abilene at the end of July for the Texas 4-H State Horse Show.

The LCTS 4-H Horse Club sponsored 2 rodeo nights at this past Lexington Homecoming, April 29th & 30th. Both evenings were a lot of fun, and Rick Reat was the rodeo coordinator! All- Around Winners were Haley Schneider and Logan Meuth

Friday night open 4-D barrel race winners were Charlie Johnson (18.049 1D), Tammy Fisher (18.549 2D), Jackie Nelson ( 19.056 3D), Gracy Jorosek ( 20.333 4D). The Double Muggin winner was Stryker Stoebner. Karen Morris helped with her press box expertise.

Saturday night youth rodeo had 21 riders and the all-around girl was Haley Schneider and allaround boy was Logan Meuth, each winning 1st in 2 events. The winners in each event were: Breakaway Roping: Janson Dawson (13 & under), Logan Meuth (14-18), Pole Bending: Presley Tomlin (9 & under), Cally Tomlin (10-13), Amber Smith ( 14- 18), Tie- down Roping: Janson Dawson (13 & under), DJ Pierce (14-18), Goat Tying: Lettie Morris (9 & under), Cally Tomlin (10-13), Haley Schneider(14-18), Ribbon Roping: Janson Dawson (10-13), Logan Meuth (14-18), Barrels: Lettie Morris ( 9 & under), Megan Rother (10-13), Haley Schneider (14-18), Chute Dogging (18 & under): Lane Turner.
