Lee County Law Enforcement Center Gets High Marks

The Texas Commission on Jail Standards wrote Lee County Sheriff Rodney Meyer recently, telling him that his jail received high marks during a recent, unannounced inspection held at the facility. The letter states, “The Texas Commission on Jail Standards wishes to acknowledge the excellent work of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office with a Certificate of Compliance for the Lee County jail. The most recent inspection of your facility on June 9, 2011 by Texas Commission on Jail Standards Inspector Fred St. Amant has demonstrated that your facility is in compliance with Texas Minimum Jail Standards.”

“Your jail facility is responsible and accountable for over 600 standards of responsibility under Texas minimum jail standards and the diligent work by your jail staff is highly recognized and acknowledged under your leadership with said Certificate of Compliance.”

“This certificate of compliance is a direct result of your department’s commitment to excellence and further attests, signifies, and demonstrates your department’s dedication and professionalism in maintaining a safe, secure and sanitary facility.”

“Providing the necessary budgetary support for jail operations is tantamount to achieve compliance and so let me also congratulate the Lee County Commissioners’ Court for their vital support of jail operations.”

“The citizens of Lee County should be proud of your combined efforts, as is the Texas Commission on Jail Standards.”
