Havard at Central Texas All Star Game

Coach Craig Finley is seen with Donnie Havard at the Central Texas All-Star futures game. Coach Craig Finley is seen with Donnie Havard at the Central Texas All-Star futures game. Donnie Havard went 0- 0, officially, at the Central Texas All- Star game, but he was a force on the field despite what the “official” stats said.

Havard was hit by a pitch in his first at bat, stole second, and eventually scored. In his second at bat he drew a BB on 4 straight pitches.

Donnie played second base in 3 of the 7 innings and the last inning in right field. At second base Donnie played the same as he did through the season, outstanding defense. In one inning he accounted for all three outs. He caught a line drive and then took a few steps to his right to double off the runner at second. Then he had a ground ball he threw to first to end the inning. It looked as though he had a great time playing ball with other players from around the Central Texas area. Havard’s team won 7-3.
