From the Superintendent of Schools

Dr. Frances M. McArthur, PhD Lexington ISD

I love the fact that summer school is in full swing and that we have lots of students in our schools. While some are reviewing material that they need some help with, most are here advancing credits in our secondary schools. None of us stop our education during the summer and even after we finish school.

Our students are a wonderful example of that reality even as they come by between summer camps and family vacations to work out in our gymnasium and take online classes in our computer labs. They remind us of the importance of recreation and sports and what a huge role they play in keeping our minds sharp, and in the overall development of our students.

Try to stay cool this summer and please bring your young children and grandchildren by our elementary school on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for Summer Reading Nights from 6:30 – 7:30pm.
