Tiny was a hard worker, very proud and a very honest man. After he was discharged from the Army he set out to work at numerous jobs until he was able to become the owner of his own business, his own self/full service laundry and dry cleaners in Pasadena. He and Gracie were very proud of this business and also proud of the five children that they raised. After Tiny sold the business, he and Gracie moved to Paige and moved into Gracie’s mother’s house. This is where they lived out the rest of their lives to the fullest. They met a lot of friends and enjoyed a very full life after moving to Paige. He worked numerous jobs in Giddings. After another retirement, he became an Insurance Agent and sold auto, home and life insurance. He was a member of the Paige United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post 276 and the Sons of Herman Lodge 154 in Paige. He also enjoyed spending time at the senior citizens center in Bastrop. No task was too “tiny” for this man. In his 60’s is when he had to take the test for his insurance license. He enjoyed traveling his last few years; he traveled to London, England, Florence and Rome Italy and Paris, France in 2010. Every birthday, he was able to spend it somewhere special….last year, he enjoyed his 87th birthday in New Orleans….he had a wonderful time! August 25, 2011 he would have turned 88, he was more concerned about renewing his driver’s license than he was about turning 88. Apparently, without anyone knowing, he recently had “polished” his driving skills by taking a class.
As you can see, our Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Friend – Tiny – (Norris) Harmon was a lover of life, his family and his Country and we are very proud of him and his life.
Funeral services were held at on Friday, June 3, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church in Giddings. Burial was at the Ridgeway Cemetery in Paige
Serving as pallbearers were Shane Wright, Michael Dube, Kenny Kmoch, Frank Barrett, Michael Barrett and Ron Binnicker.
