Now Here’s a Trip You Can Sink Your Teeth Into!

The Lee County Extension Education Association is hosting a Tour to Amarillo on July 15 through July 18. This 4-day/3-night excursion to Amarillo includes a full schedule of activities and events.

Guests will travel on a chartered bus from Extension Office in Giddings, with an additional guest pick-up in Lexington, to the Texas Panhandle. The first evening offers guests the opportunity to enjoy dinner at the Big Texan Steakhouse. On Saturday, guests will visit the Cadillac Ranch, tour both the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame and the Panhandle Plains museums. The activities flow into the evening when guests will be welcomed at an outdoor cook-out in Palo Duro Canyon before enjoying a spectacular performance of Texas, an outdoor musical drama about life on the plains of Texas. Only a state as big as Texas could host a show as big as Texas.

Activities for Sunday include a visit to Groom, Texas to see the Cross of Our Lord Jesus. This 19-story tall cross can be seen for miles across the plains. After lunch, the group will tour the Kwahadi Museum of the American Indians. Then, get to know the geography of the Texas Panhandle just a bit more with an exciting visit to River Breaks Ranch. Guests will ride through the canyon in covered wagons before joining working cowboys for a real ranch dinner.

The Amarillo Tour is $370 per person, which covers transportation, hotel, guided tours, two evening meals, and all gratuities. Call 979-542- 2753 to reserve your seat today.
