Nixon Lee Lehmann

March 14, 1959 - May 24, 2011

Nixon passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at the Schulenburg Regency in Schulenburg.

Nixon Lee Lehmann was born on March 14, 1959 in Giddings, Texas to Nolan Victor & Elsie Amalie (Alaminski) Lehmann. He was baptized on July 15, 1959 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Giddings by Rev. Fred Mgebroff. Nixon attended school at the Austin State School and the Lighthouse for the Blind in Austin. He had been a working client of the Hirsch-Schwartz Community Enterprises in Schulenburg since 1982. Nixon was the family organizer and the life of any party and family gathering. He enjoyed dancing, fishing, spending time at the farm, riding on the tractor and going to baseball and football games. Nixon enjoyed being around people and was always ready to go anywhere.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nolan & Elsie Lehmann; brother, Gene Lehmann; sister, Patsy Wagner and a sister-in-law, Kathy Lehmann.

Nixon is survived by his brother-in-law, Harvey Wagner and his children, Cheryl & Luckie Ford of Houston, Crystal & Jim Lenart of Hockley and Gene Wagner of Houston; brother, Pat & Lois Lehmann of Ledbetter and his children, Cindy & Sven Nilson of Lakeway, Hope & Heath Siegmund of Giddings and Karla & Bunky Dussetschleger of Lexington; two sisters, Nancy & Tony Absnaider of Giddings and her children, Lindsey & Gerald McKee of Giddings, Cameron Absnaider of Ledbetter and Trevor Absnaider of Giddings; and his other sister, Nina & Pat Smith of Giddings and her sons, Randy & Erin Smith of Corsicana and Andy Smith of New Caney; two cousins who were raised as brothers with him, Victor Alaminski of Ledbetter and Albert Alaminski of Mexia; two aunts, Lydia Lehmann-Haley of Ledbetter and Ruby Lehmann of El Centro, California; numerous great nieces and great nephews and his family at the Hirsch- Schwartz Community Residence in Schulenburg.

Funeral services for Nixon Lehmann, 52 of Schulenburg and formerly of Giddings, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2011 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Giddings with Rev. Jeremy Walloch officiating. Burial followed in the Ledbetter Cemetery. A prayer service was held Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers were Gene Wagner, Luckie Ford, James Lenart, Russell Ford, Sven Nilson, Heath Siegmund, Bunky Dussetschleger, Cameron Absnaider, Trevor Absnaider, Gerald McKee, Randy Smith and Andy Smith.

Memorials may be made to the Youth Fund or the Day School Fund at Martin Luther Lutheran Church, 573 North Main, Giddings, Texas 78942.
