With Giddings being eliminated from the state playoffs, the only sports left in Lee Country is Little League ball and it is drawing to a close.

Former Lexington coach, Art Behren’s LaGrange team, lost in the regional semi-finals to Huntington. That is the same round that Little River Academy lost to Kingsville Academy this weekend.

The Texas-Texas A&M baseball series turned out to be a great series, as expected. The teams shared the conference championship with Texas being the #1 seed in the tourney because of winning two of three from the Aggies. In true Aggie tradition, they say the national champion has not been crowned.

The Lady Horns softball team cratered again this year in the first round of the playoffs. The Orangebloods may not put up with this much longer.

The Rangers are reeling with sluggers Josh Hamilton and Nelson Cruz on rehab assignments.
