From the Superintendent of Schools

Dr. Frances M. McArthur, PhD Lexington ISD

As our academic year comes to a close this week, I find myself reflecting on what a wonderful, exciting, and rewarding year it has been for me this first year as your superintendent. The past few months have been challenging on the budget front as we await decisions from our legislature. However, watching our students not only develop academically but grow in compassion, understanding, and character is uplifting. Last week we had a wonderful week as we celebrated the athletic, academic and musical accomplishments of our LHS students who received awards or placed in competitions at the district, regional and state level. I am so proud of our students’ successes and of our parents and staff who organized three fun filled evenings of awards and recognitions last week. This week we will recognize our elementary and middle school students’ accomplishments.
