The Garden Cllub Annual Yard Tour was held on the only day we had rain in a “year”. A very soggy group of the Garden Club members met at the Methodist Church for a luncheon after the tour. May 12th, members met at the home of Clara Grace Sherrill, who hosted breakfast for the “Annual Yard Tour.”

The tour was organized by Millie Wester. A very welcomed four-inch rain followed members and their umbrellas through Lexington during the yard tour.

Second stop was at the home of Tom and Diane Pelham to see their raised garden beds and lovely yard.

Third stop was at the home of Mary Ann Hillegeist, which showed a lovely garden arrangement in a beautiful setting.

Fourth stop was at Leonard and Alice Kastner’s home of shade and sun settings and container gardening.

Fifth stop was at Elaine Quinney’s home with an interesting garden and lawn setting with different plants and placement.

A covered dish luncheon followed at the Lexington United Methodist Church Fellowship hall. Co-hostesses were Priscilla Brister, Wanda Townsend and Ricki Hooper.

The next meeting will be held on June 9, at Pat Ahrendt’s home. The program will be given by Johnny George on “Bees and Beekeeping”. The meeting will start at 2 p.m. Co-hostesses will be Pam Iselt, Dorothy Moerbe and Nancy Newkirk.
