Three Sentenced in District Court
On May 3, 2011, three people were sentenced in the Judicial District Court of Lee County, Texas, with the Honorable Reva Towslee-Corbett presiding.
Ernesto “Ernie” Gonzales, 22 of Lexington, was sentenced for Possession of Marijuana, 4 oz.-5 lbs. He received revocation of his original sentence, and six months confinement in the TDCJ State Jail Facility with all costs previously assessed plus $400 court appointed attorney fee on revocation matters.
Thomas Gene Smith, 54 of Austin, was sentenced for Driving While Intoxicated, subsequent. He received 5 years confinement in the TDCJ probated 5 years, and ordered to pay $2398 in fines, court costs and fees. The defendant was ordered to enter Central Texas Treatment Center, Victim Impact Panel and DWI Programs, and have an Ignition Interlock system put on his vehicle. His driver’s license was suspended for one year.
Bobby Earl Punchard, 53 of Ledbetter, was sentenced for Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle. He received 2 years confinement in the TDCJ, probated 2 years, and ordered to pay $1788 in fees, fines and court costs, and do 100 hours community service restitution.
