Rhiem Petterson, Lexington’s outstanding hurdler, will be competing in the State Track Meet this coming Saturday afternoon in Austin. Petterson won the Region IV-AA title with a fine 15.09 time. Petterson hit the fifth or sixth hurdle, which may have slowed him down in his trek to state, but wasn’t enough to keep him out of the running for a State title.

The 15.09 is the fourth fastest regional time of the state qualifiers. If Petterson can have a clean run through the barricades, he can pick up a medal at Austin.

Petterson’s race is scheduled to be held at 12:55 p.m. Saturday afternoon at Mike Myers Stadium on the University of Texas campus.
