Lexington City Council to Discuss Potential Litigation

The Lexington City Council will meet in regular session Thursday, May 12, at 6 p.m. One of the items on their agenda is to have consultation with their attorney and hear “Advice from attorney about pending litigation that has been filed against the City or contemplated litigation and other matters on which the attorney has a duty to advise the City Council, including but not limited to this week’s agenda item.”

The agenda item continued, “Discussion and evaluation on potential claims against the City of Lexington with outside counsel Martha S. Dickie.”

In further action, the City plans to discuss and possibly take action to dissolve the Police Department Advisory Committee and to discuss discipline and possible termination of Lexington Police Officers, Fred Kelly and Jim Sherer, who have been on paid administrative leave for several weeks.
