From the Superintendent of Schools

Dr. Frances M. McArthur, PhD Lexington ISD

I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend.

The next few weeks in Lexington Schools will be very busy with end of year activities, the Legislature involved in final decisions about the budget, and then graduation! I am so looking forward to my first May in Lexington! Earlier this month eleven students from Lexington HS attended the State Family, Career and Community Leaders of America Leadership Conference in Houston. Raimond French was elected to the office of State Parliamentarian for school year 2011-12. Kaila Coolidge received the CJ Davidson Scholarship in the amount of $16,000.00 to be paid out over a 4 year period.

Other LHS students competed in the STAR events. I want to congratulate all of our students who attended the Leadership Conference for representing Lexington so well.

Both our varsity softball and varsity baseball teams made it to the playoffs. I am proud of these student athletes for their hard work and congratulate them and their coaches as we look forward to the playoff games these next two weeks.
