Early Voting Starts for Upcoming Elections
This year’s City and School Board elections will each have full ballots. Seven people are running for three seats opening on the Lexington City Council. Five people are running for three seats opening on the Lexington ISD Board of Trustees.
For City Council, all three incumbents are included on this year’s ballot. Tim Brown, Greg Langehennig and Tony Tavary are seeking re-election. Also running for City Council are Stephanie Aderhold, Mary Atkins, Opal Lewis and write-in candidate, Angela Brower.
For LISD Board of Trustees, only one incumbent, Dr. Mark Strain, is on the ballot. Also running for the school board are David Boettcher, Riza Cooper, Doug Havard and Candace Thornton.
Early voting will begin on May 2, 2011 and continue until May 10. Early voting for the City positions will be held at City Hall, Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Early voting for the LISD positions will be held weekdays from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
This year’s elections will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2011.
