Country Music Monday

The regular monthly Country Music Monday program sponsored by The Rotary Club of Giddings will be held on Monday, May 2nd, at the new Giddings High School Cafetorium on Highway 77 North of Giddings. The program begins at 7:30 p.m. with admission of $5.00. The May program features four outstanding Country Music artists: Jacob Austin, Moses Rangel, Allen Orts and Gayla Nimz.

It is said that every person has at least one gift from God. Moses Rangel discovered his gift of voice some 17 years ago when he caught the eye of an employee in a music store where he was purchasing a guitar. The employee’s request was, “ Sing Elvis’ Love Me Tender.” This led to a knowledge of a number of famous Country artists as Conway Twitty, Merle Haggard, Ray Price and others and confidence in his gift of singing. He uses his gift from God to entertain audiences.

Jacob Austin is a young man who has spent more than half his life singing. At an early age, he was performing with the Brazos Valley Troupe in the Bryan College Station area, the Unity Theater of Brenham and the Theater Company of Bryan.

Gayla Nimz has been playing and singing since she was eight and enjoys all types of country music. Her special gift is her ability to play the rhythm guitar. Allen Orts and the regular Country Music Monday band complete the line up for Monday, May 2nd.

The doors open at 5:15 p.m. Food is available and Rotary Club members are on hand to assist with the parking.
