It is great to see some of our Eagles getting the chance to play at the next level like Tyler Moerbe. Tyler told me that former Eagle Spencer Taylor had signed with Wayland Baptist also. The two plan to be roommates as the Pioneers emerge from a 70-year hiatus from football. Steven Moerbe told me Wayland’s mascot, 70-years ago, was the Jackrabbit.
The softball team will be in the playoffs either as the second or third place team. They have done quite well considering the mental strain of losing a teammate to an accident. They have closed ranks and kept marching toward their goal.
The baseball team will surely make the playoffs barring a complete collapse. They will probably win two or all three of the remaining games and go in as the second place team.
The Eagle track team usually goes to the Region IV meet in a bus. This year they can go in the old, school Taurus with room to spare.
Anyone wanting to reach Kaelan Blok this week can call San Marcos!!!!! Blok’s and Brown’s baseball and softball teams are to play Rogers Tuesday night just to add to the busy week. I doubt they make the baseball and softball games. Blok will be back for Friday’s game in Thorndale. The girls are not presently scheduled.
My special thanks to Karen Wrinkle and James O’Conner for keeping stats on the softball and baseball games that I could not attend. These people made my job much, much, easier.
