Eagles Sink Vikings’ Ship
Lexington continued to hold onto second place in District 27- AA with a 17-3 demolishing of the Lago Vista Vikings Friday night. Lexington got five runs in the top of the first and that was just the beginning.
Josh O’Conner got things going for Lexington doubling with one out. Kaelan Blok followed with a single to plate the first run. Tyler Moerbe reached on a fielder’s choice to put two runners on base. Logan Meuth doubled home a run and Dylan Iselt drove home Meuth. Iselt strolled home when Donnie Havard walked with the bases loaded.
Moerbe doubled with one out in the second inning. Meuth reached on a passed ball. Iselt then singled his cousin (Moerbe) home.
O’Conner doubled with one out to start the third inning scoring spree. Blok walked, Moerbe reached on an error as O’Conner scored, and Meuth got the other runners home. Iselt followed with a ground out to get Meuth home.
Havard homered with two out in the fourth for that inning’s only run.
Moerbe singled to lead off the fifth. The LV centerfielder erred on Meuth’s hit. Iselt followed with a single to plate Meuth. Kogan Garrett singled to put two runners on base.
Lane Turner singled home two and Brandon Meyer sent Turner home with a double. Havard singled to get Meyer home and Collin Wiggins ground out got Havard home.
Blok pitched the first 2 1/3 innings and Meyer finished up to get credit for the Eagle win.
