Woodson Lumber’s 2nd Annual Pet Contest
Rebecca (a.k.a. Becca!) Frazier with her Little Red Riding Hood – Moxy, a Labradoodle! Moxy won Third Place for being the Cutest Pet at Woodson Lumber’s 2nd Annual Pet Contest last Saturday.
Then came a most unusual entry – in fact the First Place Winner of the Most Unusual Pet! It was Andy the baby Opposum! Andy was only days old, but won the hearts of everyone as he clung to his owner’s shoulder. Kynleigh Evans brought us Andy last Saturday!
Chelsea Elliott caresses her favorite pet – Bailey, the Button- Nosed Baby who won First Place for being the Cutest Pet and who also won Third Place for being the Best Dressed pet!
Andy wasn’t the only unusual pet entered. Another member of the Evans Clan, Kase, had two unusual pets – Froggie the Tree Frog and the Skink without a name! (For those of you who don’t know what a Skink is – it’s a little brown lizard!) Froggie won Second Place for being the Most Unusual Pet in Saturday’s contest.
Kyle Freeman is seen holding the green egg from Dr. Suess’s Green Eggs and Ham! Well, actually, the green egg is from his pet entry in last Saturday’s contest – Nina, the green-egg laying chicken! Nina took home the Third Place award for being the Most Unusual Pet!
Jacob Townsend (left) entered his Cupcake, the Chorky (a designer breed crossing a Chijuajua with a Yorkie) in last Saturday’s Pet Contest. Cupcake, at only 13 weeks, won Second Place in the Cutest Pet division of the event. Then came Corkey the Chorky! Corkey, sister to Cupcake, was shown by Sue Kelley (right) and also won Second Place – in the Best Dressed category.
Grace Freeman is seen with her favorite pet, Bo Dingle. Bo got her middle name by earning it (use your imagination!).
Natasha Hoeft loves her pet entry. It was Cowboy, the beautiful Shetland Sheep Dog!
Kayla and Lauren Boettcher brought one of their favorite pets to the Contest! They brought Bob the 250 pound goat! Bob was exquisitely dressed in a modern tye-dyed T-shirt complete with a chain necklace! Lauren rode Bob around the stage while sister Kayla helped with the lead rope.
Pokey, the “stray Golden Retriever” (huh?) was shown by Hallie Floyd. Pokey wasn’t in the mood for showing his brilliance, but any Golden Retriever (that can camouflage itself like Pokey obviously has) must be pretty smart!
Phyllis (right) and Bailey Floyd crowd around their favorite – AND VERY SMART – pet, Lady the Golden Retriever. Lady put on quite a performance last Saturday, including showing off her ability to COUNT! Yes – COUNT! Lady is a very smart dog!
Robin Exner entered her Miniature Schnauzer, Raz. Raz had a fresh hair cut and donned a bright red bandana for the special occasion!
