Sports Thoughts…

For the second time this season, the umpires did not show up for a Lexington/Florence game. In Lexington Randy Wrinkle and Jason Holcomb umpired. In Florence Saturday, only one of the assigned umps showed up. Wrinkle again was pressed into duty. It was hot and wife Karen had to “water the umpire” between innings by sticking a straw through the fence. For the second time this season, the umpires did not show up for a Lexington/Florence game. It was hot and wife Karen had to “water the umpire” between innings by sticking a straw through the fence. I pray first that Marley Ross will recover from her injuries sustained in the car wreck. Secondly, I hope the softball team can carry on and win it for Marley and themselves.

Which one of the two of 5.9 million predictions had Butler playing UConn for the national championship in men’s basketball?

Will either of the programs have the title vacated later? UConn’s coach has a history of being in the shady area of college basketball.

Will we be able to live with the local Aggies now that their girls’ team will be playing for the national championship Tuesday night against Notre Dame?

The local ball teams are in good shape to make a playoff run. They are starting their second round of district play. The boys are in second place after the first round. The girls are in second place with five games left in the season.

The tennis and golf athletes are showing they have regional, and maybe state, abilities.
