Suicide Victim in Lincoln

On Monday, April 4, at approximately 7:34 p.m., the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a shooting at 1053 PR 7715 in Lincoln. Officers and E.M.S. were dispatched to the scene where the victim, Rebecca (Becky) Burlin, age 54, was found deceased. The victim had suffered a self-inflicted gun shot wound, pending an autopsy. The inquest was held by Justice of the Peace Danita Smith.

The victim was picked up by Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings and a request was made for the body to be taken to the Travis County Medical Examiners Office for the autopsy.

Deputies involved in the investigation include Sheriff Rodney Meyer, Chief Deputy Nathan Lapham, Captain Adam Gonzales, Deputy Garrett Durrenberger, and Deputy Rudy Rudolph.

Both Lexington EMS and B & M Ambulance responded to the scene.
