Rev-Up Council to Meet in Giddings
Using a grant from the U. S. Department of Labor, high-level community leaders representing seven Texas counties, including Lee County, formed a multi-region partnership. The partnership was organized under the name Regional Economic Revitalization and Utilization Planning Council, or Rev-Up Council, the membership of which represents high-level staff and elected officials from the seven counties’ Councils of Governments and Workforce Boards.
Meeting regularly over the past year, the Rev-Up Council worked with local representatives to identify solutions to stabilize economies after the Alcoa Inc. and subsequent feeder industry closures.
The Rev-Up Council used a planning grant to contract with TIP Strategies, Inc., a third party consultant, which completed a crossregional assets assessment. The results of the multi-pronged analysis will be presented next Monday, April 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. in Giddings at the Giddings City Hall. The focus will be on confirming and refining cross-regional economic stabilization strategies. The public is invited.
