Four Sentenced in Judicial District Court
Four people were sentenced in the 21st Judicial District Court of Lee County, Texas on March 22, 2011. The Honorable Terry Flenniken presided.
Phillip Marshall Shaffer, 26 of Giddings, was given three sentences, the first for robbery-engaging in organized criminal activity-repeat felony offender, for which he received 20 years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, $304 court costs, $400 court appointed attorney fee, $50 Bluebonnet Area Crime Stopper Fee, $34 DNA testing fee and $19,800.52 restitution to run concurrent with other Lee County cases. He was also sentenced for tampering with or fabricating physical evidence-repeat felony offender and unauthorized use of motor vehicle-repeat felony officer. For each of these, he received 20 years confinement in the TDCJ and $788 court costs and fees. They will run concurrent with other Lee County cases.
Montrell Jarrard Washington, 23 of Houston, was sentenced for aggravated assault-with a deadly weapon-serious bodily injury. He received 8 years confinement in the TDCJ and $388 in fines and fees.
Michael Lynn Roberts, 29 of Ledbetter, was sentenced for robberyengaging in organized criminal activity. He received 10 years confinement in the TDCJ, probated 10 years. He was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine, $304 court costs, $50 Bluebonnet Area Crime Stopper Fee, $34 DNA testing fee and $19,800.52 restitution.
Leslie James Stewart, 46 of Giddings, was sentenced for assault/ family/household/member/impede/breath circulation. He received 3 years probation, and ordered to pay $304 court costs, $400 court appointed attorney fee, $500 fine, $50 Bluebonnet Area Crime Stopper Fee, $34 DNA Testing fee and Anger Management and counseling.
