From the Superintendent of Schools
Lately, much of what I have written has been about the state budget shortfall and its effects on Lexington ISD. While we continue to be very much in the middle of our budget development as we keep our eyes on happenings in Austin, I am proud to tell you that our students continue to be shining examples of success in most everything they participate in.
Before spring break, eleven of our students were in Dallas participating at the state level in the Business Professionals of America competition. While all of our students represented Lexington well, one of our students, Gregory Willrich, advanced to BPA Nationals. I am very proud of Gregory, as BPA is only one of many activities that he is active and successful in. I am excited about the successes of our students at the Lee County Jr. Livestock Show. I am finding that our students put the same drive and effort into caring for their animals as they do to academics, athletics, and service.
Thank you for all you do to support our students in all of their endeavours. It is the community wide support of the citizens of Lexington that makes LISD the district where everyone wants to be.
