Herbert Bernhard Foerster
Herbert Bernhard Foerster was born on August 28, 1929 at home in Fayette County, Texas to Paul Ben & Clara (Walther) Foerster. He was a lifelong cattle rancher and farmer, producing corn, cotton and peanuts in the Warda area. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda and enjoyed attending church functions. Herbert loved visiting with friends, always having a story to share. He enjoyed driving his truck while checking his farm. He also enjoyed listening to the Trading Post on the radio and drinking his Dr. Pepper. He passed away on the evening of Saturday, March 19, 2011 at St. Mark’s Medical Center in La Grange.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Herbert is survived by his sister, Viola Bernice & Edgar Schulz of Houston; two nieces, Linda & Jim Baccus of Houston and Debra & Bob Fanning of Houston; two great nieces, Reagan & Darrell Wolfe and Kacey Baccus all of Houston; one great nephew, Cameron Fanning of Houston and two great, great nieces, Ryann Wolfe and Ellie Wolfe both of Houston.
Funeral services for Herbert Foerster, 81 of Warda, Texas were held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda, with Rev. Dennis Tegtmeier officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Visitation was held on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 7: 00 a. m. until 8: 30 a. m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The family was present for visitation Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
