German “Joe” Joseph Moreno

March 15, 1987 - March 16, 2011

Joseph died as a result of an automobile accident the afternoon of Wednesday, March 16, 2011 near Dime Box.

German Joseph Moreno was born on March 15, 1987 in San Antonio, Texas to Herman & Margaret (Gonzales) Moreno. He graduated from Dime Box High School in 2006 and was employed with the Burton Sausage Company in Burton. Joseph married Tiffany Dawson on February 6, 2010 in Dime Box, Texas.

He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Timothy Wells III.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Tiffany Dawson Moreno of Dime Box; his son, German Joseph Moreno Jr. of Dime Box; parents, Herman & Margaret Moreno of Dime Box; brother, Michael Gonzales of College Station; sister, Andrea & Bill McDaniel of Dime Box; parents-in-law, Kermit & Sally Dawson of Dime Box; brother-in-law, Kermit Jr. & Melanie Dawson of Dime Box; sisters-in-law, Sandra & Billy Joe Crenshaw of Dime Box, Natasha Dawson of Dime Box, Stephanie Dawson of Dime Box and Brenda Kay Dawson of Dime Box; grandparents, Francis & Ramiro Gonzales of Bandera and Rodolfo & Delia Moreno of Pearsall as well as numerous aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Joseph Moreno, 24 of Dime Box, Texas, were held at 10: 00 a. m. on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Giddings with Father Jim Olnhausen officiating. Burial followed in the Giddings City Cemetery. Visitation was held on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 9: 00 a. m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. A Rosary was held Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers were Ethan Schuman, Johnny Gonzales, Leroy Smythe, William McDaniel Jr., Curtis Truesdale, Kermit Dawson Jr., Mike Wilson and Xavier Little.

Memorials may be made to the German Joseph Moreno Jr. Education Fund.
