Sheriff’s Report

March 7, 2011

A caller reported that two vehicles were parked at the Globe Hill Baptist Church on CR 133. Deputy Liles responded but reported that there were no vehicles at the church.

Several motorists reported cows out on the roadway on Hwy 21 just west of FM 2440. Deputy Rudolph responded and ran the cows into a pasture.

The Sheriff’s Office received a call from a female reporting that she was stranded on the side of Hwy 290 East and had two babies in the vehicle. Deputy Durrenberger located the van near Bobby Lehmann Trucking and determined that she was out of gas. Wilbert’s Service Center was able to assist with enough gas to get her into town.

Deputy Lapham and Deputy Kahn were dispatched to a disturbance on FM 696. The complainant advised that his wife was at their house packing things up. Upon their arrival the wife had already left.

A health care provider made a report regarding a box of missing paper work. Deputy Durrenberger and Deputy Rudolph assisted.

March 8, 2011

A caller reported 2 horses were out on CR 230 near the wooden bridge. Deputy Ray responded and reported that the horses ran down the road and into the woods.

Deputy York met with a complainant at the Lexington Police Department regarding a disturbance call on FM 696 West.

Commissioner Hartfield reported that someone had damaged a mailbox on CR 216. Deputy York is currently investigating this case and two others.

The Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting a suspicious yellow van that was on CR 405 in Lexington. Deputy Lapham and Deputy Rudolph searched the area but advised that the van was no longer in the area.

A resident on CR 205 reported a suspicious vehicle that was seen parked in an oil well entrance across from her residence. A vehicle description was given to Deputy Carvin and Deputy Kahn. The vehicle had left the area last seen heading towards Hwy 290.

A motorist reported that he was rear ended by a white GMC Suburban that was pulling a utility trailer. The incident occurred at the intersection of Hwy 290 @ Orange St. Deputy Allen assisted DPS in locating the vehicle near the Fayette County line.

Deputy Crockett spoke to a complainant regarding a civil matter. She advised that her soon to be ex husband took her vehicle and would not tell her where it was. Subject was advised to seek the advice of an attorney.

March 9, 2011

A resident on CR 400 in Dime Box reported that her dogs were barking and growling at something near her barn. Deputy Ray responded and searched the area and reported that the barn and property are okay. He will drive around and patrol the area throughout the evening.

An alarm company reported a residential burglar alarm on Hwy 77 South. Deputy Carvin and Deputy Kahn checked the residence and found it to be secure.

Deputy York checked CR 411 for a suspicious vehicle that was parked on the side of the road. The vehicle had left the area prior to his arrival.

A resident on CR 213 reported a vehicle was located on his property and the vehicle was stuck. Deputy York, Deputy Durrenberger and Deputy

Rudolph responded to the call. The driver advised that he was lost and now his vehicle had a flat tire. Deputies assisted with his flat and gave him directions to Austin.

March 10, 2011

Deputy Crockett was dispatched to a residence on Hwy 290 West after a caller reported that a pit bull had broken free from its chain and attacked a small dog. The caller was afraid that the dog would harm children that were outside. The dog owner assured that the dog is not aggressive towards people.

Deputy Durrenberger and Deputy Rudolph were dispatched to FM 696 East near the skydiving center after a motorist reported that some donkeys were out on the road.

A motorist reported that he was behind a red Toyota Camry that was swerving from lane to lane on Hwy 290 West. Deputy Rudolph and Deputy Durrenberger located the vehicle and observed it into town but reported that they did not see it violate any traffic laws.

March 11, 2011

Deputy Lapham and Deputy Kahn assisted at the scene of a head on collision on Hwy 290 @ Turkey Creek Road. Fayette County was advised of the accident and had EMS and a Trooper dispatched from their county. A motorist reported donkeys were out on the roadway on FM 619 approx 1 mile off FM 696 West. Deputy Lapham and Deputy Kahn located the donkeys and ran them off the road and advised dispatch to contact Williamson County.

Deputy York and Deputy Carvin were dispatched to a disturbance at a residence on CR 133. They advised their daughter and granddaughters were staying with her due to an abusive situation and now the husband was at their gate. Deputies will be patrolling the area and a close patrol of the property will be in effect.

The Sheriff’s Office received a call that a motorcycle was broke down at the intersection of Hwy 290 West @ CR 203. Deputy Rudolph and Deputy Durrenberger located the motorist and he advised he was just waiting on a wrecker.

March 11, 2011

Deputy Ray and Deputy Liles searched for a suspicious vehicle that was reported to be on Hwy 21 heading towards Dime Box.

A motorist reported a possible drunk driver that was east bound in the west bound lanes on Hwy 290 East. Deputy Ray and Deputy Liles responded to the call and located the vehicle near CR 233. The driver was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.

A caller reported that she was traveling on Hwy 77 and came up on a rollover accident. She reported that the vehicle was still running and the radio was playing but she could not find anyone around. Deputy Liles and Deputy Ray assisted Trooper Manner and located the driver out in a field. The driver was transported to a hospital.

Deputy York was dispatched to Hwy 21 to attempt to locate a black GMC truck that was reported to be swerving all over the roadway. He located the vehicle and spoke to the driver who checked out okay and reported that the strong wind gusts were causing him to swerve a little.

Washington County requested assistance in locating a runaway juvenile. The juvenile was last seen traveling westbound on Hwy 290 East near Turkey Creek Road wearing a dark green shirt, blue jeans and a black & white hoodie. Deputy York located the runaway on Hwy 290 and transported him to the Sheriff’s Office and was later released to Washington County.

Deputy Allen and Deputy Rudolph assisted at the scene of an accident on Hwy 290 West near CR 205. Three vehicles were involved. Fayette County dispatched one of their troopers to the scene.

A caller reported a possible prowler at his residence on CR 450. Deputy Liles searched the property and advised everything was okay.

March 13, 2011

A resident on FM 141 reported that a grey truck was in her driveway and had been there since 5:30 am. Deputy Carvin was dispatched and located the vehicle and spoke to the driver who advised he had an argument with his girlfriend and pulled over to get some sleep.

The Sheriff’s Office received a transferred call from Bastrop County reporting a white 4 door Dodge Stratus that was driving all over the roadway on Hwy 290. Deputy Allen assisted Trooper Weiser in locating the vehicle. The driver was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and possession of marijuana.

Deputy Allen spoke to a complainant who advised that her juvenile daughter lent her cell phone to a friend without her permission. The phone was returned after Deputy Allen spoke to the parents.
