Carl “C.A.” A. Schulze

February 2, 1932 - March 13, 2011

C.A. passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Monument Hill Nursing Center in La Grange, Texas.

Carl “C.A.” Schulze was born on February 2, 1932 in Fayette County, Texas to Ewald & Ottilie (Zoch) Schulze. C.A. joined the army on April 22, 1953 and shortly after married Bobbie Thornton on September 3, 1953. He was a rancher and true jack of all trades who loved horses, working cattle as well as fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Oswald Urban Schulze and Edward Schulze and an infant sister.

Mr. Schulze is survived by his wife, Bobbie Schulze of Giddings; 2 sons, Erwin & Laverne Schulze of Northrup and Carl L. Schulze of Giddings; daughter, Debbie & David Burkhalter of Cedar Creek; 4 grandchildren, Mark Anthony Schulze of San Antonio, Craig Snider of Round Rock, Christina Schulze of San Antonio, and David Burkhalter Jr. of Cedar Creek; 9 great grandchildren; brother, Paul Schulze & wife, Laura of Winchester; 2 sisters, Bernice Reuther & husband, Leonard of Lincoln and Anna Mae Saunders of Conroe as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and extended family and friends.

Funeral services for Carl “C.A.”Schulze, 79 of Giddings, will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at St. Michael Lutheran Church in Winchester, Texas. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 7: 00 a. m. until 8: 00 a. m. at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The family will be present Wednesday evening from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Memorials may be made to St. Michael Lutheran Church Building Fund or 125 anniversary in Winchester or a charity of choice.
