The Extension office is happy to recognize the Art Teachers of these winners: Lexington Elementary, Christine McManus; Giddings Elementary, Julie Lucas; Giddings Intermediate and Middle schools, Faith Preuss; and St. Paul Lutheran School, Kim Droegemueller.
County Extension Agent and contest coordinator, Tonya Poncik, said, “Without the strong support of the Art Teachers, the Annual Poster Contest would not be the success that it is. The teachers are to be commended for their efforts in the classroom, introducing the students, not just to Livestock Competition, but to the use of art in advertising.”
Poncik continued to say, “This year, Mrs. Lucas brought baby goats into her classroom so the children would have a better understanding of Livestock Show animals. The posters reflect that the students, without question, enjoyed their assignment.”
