Lexington Ladies 4th at Navarro

Lexington topped Boerne, Pleasanton, Stockdale, Kenedy, and the Seguin JV before falling to Santa Gertudis Academy in the final game Saturday night.

Game 1- Lexington topped Boerne 8-7 to open the tourney. Courtney Robertson pitched the entire game for Lexington to move her record and the team to 2-0. Meghann Wrinkle led the offense with her first high school homerun and a double. Madison Bexley chipped in two doubles as the Mean Green took the opener.

Game 2-Lexington topped class 3A Pleasanton 5-3 in game 2 of the tourney. Wrinkle pitched the entire game for Lexington allowing 10 hits (nine singles and a double). Offensively Robertson, Wrinkle, Bexley, and Marley Ross pounded doubles lead the way. Besides the four doubles, Lexington had four singles to plate the five runs.

Game 3-Lexington stomped Stockdale 16-3. Haley Jatzlau led the onslaught with a double and triple. Robertson had a two doubles and Wrinkle a double to help the Green cause. Lexington banged out 13 more singles against the Brahma pitching. Jatzlau had four RBIs and Wrinkle three in the blowout. Robertson was the winning pitcher to move her record to 3-0.

Game 4- This game was a breather for Lexington after a long bus ride. The Lady Eagles pounded Kenedy 20-0 in three innings. Robertson and Wrinkle had doubles for Lexington. Lexington only had nine hits in the game as it got out of hand quickly with the Green scoring 10 runs in the bottom of the first inning. Wrinkle was the winning pitcher, improving her record to 2-0.

Game 5-The Seguin JV proved no contest for the Lady Eagle bats. Lexington pounded out 12 hits and scoring 15 runs over five innings to wipe out the Lady Matadors. Wrinkle had a double and triple and Robertson had a double. Both young ladies drove in five runs in the massacre. Robertson was the winning pitcher, improving her record to 4-0. Robertson threw only 49 pitches after Wrinkle had tossed 40 in the Kenedy win.

Game 6-The Santa Gertrudis Academy, (Driscoll and Santa Gertrudis consolidated) proved too much for Lexington after two long days of softball. SGA beat the Lady Eagles 11-3 in a game played at 8:00 pm Saturday night. Wrinkle had a triple and an RBIand Veronica Richardson had a triple also in the contest. Richardson scored on Marley Ross’ ground out. The Lady Eagles fielding let them down as they committed nine errors in the mercy shortened game.

Lexington ended up fourth in the 32-team tourney. The placing was decided on an intricate scoring system put in place prior to the tourney.
