Lexington JV Boys End Season

by Dr. Mark Strain.

The Boys Junior Varsity Basketball team hosted the Buffaloes of Florence in the AP Kleinschmidt gymnasium for their final game of the year on Tuesday February 15th. The game tonight woiuld mimic the boys season. It was characterized by great effort and determination, but would inevitably fall short in scoring. #32 Nate Holcomb started the Eagle scoring with a nice three pointer, but only after Florence had already put in ten points. The answer to Holcomb’s 3 pointer would be Florence putting in 2 three pointers of their own. With only one more point scored by Lexington’s #12 Corey Strain at the free throw line the first period ended 18-4 Florence.

The second had #24 Cameron Janda put in four points for the only Eagle scores while Florence inked up 12 more. 30-9 at the half.

The third period again only showed Janda scoring for the Eagles this time with a single point from the free throw line while Florence put in 11 – 41-10.

The fourth and final period saw the young Eagles double their score. #30 Marcus Cassassa had 2 and Strain put in 8 more. The final score for the game was Florence over Lexington 47-20.

While the young Eagles only won two games in the shortened basketball season, they played with pride and intensity all year.
