Ella Jenke Morse
Ella Marie (Jenke) Morse was born on April 24, 1916 in Paige, Texas to Hugo Emil & Hulda (Herklotz) Jenke. She married Samuel J. “ Red” Morse and together they owned and operated a convenience store and gas station known as Red’s Place in Austin for many years.
Ella was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and a brother, Albert Jenke.
She is survived by her nephew, Sam & Susan Jenke of Austin; her niece, Margot Morse of Austin; three great nephews, Jacen Jenke of Austin, Bobby & Shanna Morse of Austin and David Morse and wife, Melanieof Houston; three great nieces, Kerry & Garry Gore of Bryan, Laura & Ray Hampton of Dallas and Mecca & Jeff Givens of Ft. Worth as well as other extended family members and friends.
Funeral services for Ella (Jenke) Morse, 94 of Lexington, Texas, were held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings with Rev. Lee Eschberger officiating. Burial followed in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Paige, Texas. Visitation was held Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings.
Serving as pallbearers were Sam Jenke, Jacen Jenke, Bobby Morse, David Morse, Garry Gore and Jim Heck.
