PHOTO BY MARK STRAIN. Lexington finished the basketball season with a 51-38 defeat of the Florence Buffaloes Tuesday night. The Eagles honored the parents of the two graduating seniors, Kaelan Blok and Doug Rhodes.

Jason Washington had his highest scoring game of the season with 24- points, after having three sub- par games. Washington dropped in four threepoints shots for half of his total. The long shots opened up drives to the basket and trips to the free throw line.

Lexington owned the first half before stumbling in the third quarter. Lexington led 27-12 at the break but Florence outscored Lexington 24-7 in the third quarter.

The teams headed into the fourth quarter with the Buffs on a roll and trailing 36-34. Lexington righted their game, returning to the first half dominance to finish with a win. Lexington outscored Florence 17-2 in the final stanza to finish the short season with a win.

Washington was the only Eagle in double figures with 24. Freshman Eriq Mitchell came out of his scoring doldrums with nine points. The seniors Blok and Rhodes finished their Eagle careers with six and two points respectively.

The Eagle JV came up short 47- 20 in their final effort of the season. Corey Strain was the leading scorer with eight.
