Doris Emma Sophie Mutscher

April 19, 1925 - February 12, 2011

Mrs. Mutscher passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at the Country Care Plex in Giddings.

Doris Emma Sophie Heine Mutscher was born on April 19, 1925 in Sylvan Grove, Kansas to August & Emilie (Otting) Heine. She was united in marriage to Clarence G. Mutscher on February 16, 1947 in Sylvan Grove, Kansas. Mrs. Mutscher owned and managed the Giddings Sands Motel and Mutscher’s Mobile Home Sales.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence Mutscher; son, Glenn Mutscher; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret & Leroy Shoemaker and Leonette & Robert Gier; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Marvin & Louise Mutscher and two brothers-in-law, Julius Urech and Raymond Raschke.

She is survived by her son, Ralph & Linda Mutscher of Giddings; her daughter, Shirley & Robert Alexander of Giddings; daughter-in-law, Pat Mutscher Dittmar of Austin; six grandsons, Keith Mutscher & fiancee, Nancy Ditmire of Austin, Randy & Angelica Mutscher of Austin, Jeff & Brandi Mutscher of Giddings, Travis & Laurie Mutscher of Round Rock, Virgil Alexander of Pearland and Phillip Alexander of Houston; six great grandchildren and a sister- in- law, Esther Raschke of Houston.

Funeral services for Doris Mutscher, 85 of Giddings, were held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings with Rev. Robert Tiner and Rev. Keith Aschenbeck officiating. Burial followed in the Giddings City Cemetery. Visitation was held Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 7:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The Mutscher family was present for visitation Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Serving as pallbearers were Mrs. Mutscher’s six grandsons.

Memorials may be made to the Forward in Faith Campaign at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings.
