Texas Quilt Museum Coming To Area

Karey Bresenham, founder and president of Quilts, Inc. will present a program for the Colorado Valley Quilt Guild about her latest project, The Texas Quilt Museum. The Museum, due to open in downtown La Grange, Texas in October 2011, will be housed in two renovated buildings. Quilts, Inc., is widely known for producing 5 quilt shows annually, the largest being the International Quilt Festival in Houston. Karey also owns The Great Expectations Creativity Center outside La Grange. In addition to retreats, the Creativity Center offers workshops and has an artist-in-residence program. The world of quilting is indebted to Karey Bresenham for her diligence in promoting and preserving this unique art form worldwide, and Texas is fortunate to have her as a citizen of this state which is replete with practitioners of quilting..

Visitors are always welcome at the Colorado Valley Quilt Guild meetings, so feel free to take advantage of this opportunity to hear an international celebrity tell about her latest project and show quilts of exceptional quality. This meeting will be held at the 1st United Methodist Church, 1215 Von Minden Rd., La Grange, Texas, Feb. 22 @ 7:00 p m.

Also coming soon is “The Best Little Quilt Show in Texas” which is an annual project of the Colorado Valley Quilt Guild.
