Cameron Corrals Lexington

by Mike Organ

The Cameron Yoe defeated Lexington 58- 28 Saturday afternoon in Cameron. The game was moved to Saturday due to the weather conditions on Friday.

Lexington played a great first quarter as they hustled and played tough defense. They were leading the Yoe 10-9 at the end of the first period. The game should have stopped there if you were an Eagle.

Cameron went on a scoring spree and Lexington could not buy a basket. Sean Williams scored Lexington’s only basket on a put back and Cameron tacked 20 onto their first quarter total in the pivotal second quarter.

Cameron led 29-12 at the half.

Eriq Mitchell, the leading scorer in the last four games, could not get untracked. He got three fouls early and managed only three baskets in the third quarter. Zach Lay hit two long three-point shots, one in the first quarter and one in the fourth.

With the game out of hand, Coach Tucker put in three JV players to get them some varsity experience. London Jacob, Corey Strain, and Cameron Janda all got some playing time to prepare them for next season.
