Frieda Lydia Schneider

February 26, 1921 - February 6, 2011

Mrs. Schneider passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at the MedStar Care Center in Giddings.

Frieda Lydia Zoch Schneider was born on February 26, 1921 in Giddings, Texas to John Traugott & Hulda Marie (Schulze) Zoch. She was baptized on March 6, 1921 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings by Rev. G.W. Fischer. Frieda was united in marriage to Henry Ernst Schneider on September 19, 1946 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings by Rev. Max Studtmann. She was a loving and devoted homemaker, mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Lincoln and enjoyed gardening, canning, taking care of her flowerbeds and quilting. Frieda helped to prepare the meals at many weddings for family and friends in the Lee County area throughout the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John & Hulda Zoch; her husband, Henry Schneider; an infant son; son-in-law, Monroe Brade Jr.; sister, Ester Louise Zoch and a brother, Martin Zoch.

Frieda is survived by her seven children, Linda & Jim Knudson of Pearland, Betty & Maurice Jatzlau of Cypress, Joyce & Eugene Schneider of Hockley, Gary & Janice Schneider of Lexington, Clyde & Dianne Schneider of Giddings, James & Rhonda Schneider of Giddings and Barbara & Steve Parrish of Hutto; nineteen grandchildren, Torrey & Joyce Knudson of Alvin, Teresa Knudson of Pearland, Kevin & Jennifer Knudson of Richmond, Jack & Debbie LaPenta of Austin, Steven Jatzlau & Roxie Rohlack of Round Rock, Monica Schneider of Hockley, Rhonda Schneider of Cypress, William Schneider of Houston, Marcus & Amanda Schneider of Houston, Laura & Kyle Winkler of Ft. Worth, Gary Schneider Jr. of Lexington, Crystal & Daniel Fritsche of Loebau, Dustin Schneider of Waco, Anthony & Natasha Davis of Katy, Preston Schneider of Giddings, Rodney Schneider of Giddings, Chad & Kimberly Brade of Round Rock, Courtney Brade of Round Rock and Marc Parrish of Hutto; step granddaughter, Falan & Odaine Sharpe of New York; thirteen great grandchildren, Zachary Schneider of Cypress, Demetrius, Emery & Jasmine Turk of Cypress, Nicole Knudson of Pearland, Kaitlyn Knudson of Richmond, Jake LaPenta of Austin, Easton Fritsche of Loebau, Breanna Martinez of Hockley, Payton & Jayden Schneider of Houston, Encil Knudson of Austin and Kyle Knudson of San Diego, CA; brother, Walter Zoch of La Grange; brother-in-law, Charles Schneider of Houston; sisters-inlaw, Gertrude Fritsche of Houston, Florence Smoot of Houston, Bernice & Raymond Wolff of Houston and Hulda Zoch of Serbin and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Frieda Schneider, 89 of Lincoln, Texas, were held at 10: 00 a. m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at St. John Lutheran Church in Lincoln with Rev. Dale Bohm officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Visitation was held on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 7:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The Schneider family was present for visitation Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Serving as pallbearers were Torrey Knudson, Dustin Schneider, Gary Schneider Jr., Marc Parrish, Marcus Schneider, Steven Jatzlau, Rodney Schneider, William Schneider, Kevin Knudson, Preston Schneider, Chad Brade and James “Smokey” Zoch.

Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church or the charity of one’s choice.
