Sports Thoughts

by Mike Organ

The Lady Eagles are kind of like the Green Bay Packers. Every game they play is a playoff game. They can not afford to lose more than one more game and maintain any hope of making the playoffs. Lexington hosts district leading Jarrell Tuesday night, travel to Cameron Friday night, and host Rogers in the regular season finale next Tuesday. The good news? Lexington has always played the Jarrell girls tough in each of the last two seasons.

One e-mail pointed out the Green Bay Packers saved the U.S. citizens a lot of money. If Chicago had won last week, President Obama would have gone to the game. With all the security, air travel, and other members of the presidential entourage the Packers saved the nation millions.

Who is going to win the Super Bowl? I have to go with the Green and Gold. I picked them fifteen times this season and was only wrong once!!!!! The odds are with me.

Texas is becoming quite a force in basketball. You have to be somewhat cautious in your support. Texas started the season 17-0 last season and then fell faster than a meteorite. Texas has a huge test Monday night as they travel to College Station to take on a fine A&M team that gave Texas a battle at home. Playing in Reed Arena is playing in the ultimate hostile environment.
