Lexington Lances Lago Vista

by Mike Organ

The Lady Vikings of Lago Vista put up a valiant effort but the Lexington Lady Eagles, fighting for their playoff lives, played a strong last half to pull away for a 37-30 win.

The two teams played two different quarters to open the game. Lexington won the first quarter 12-2 with strong defense and opportunistic offense. Lago Vista followed the same formula the second quarter as the teams went into the halftime break tied 14 all.

Angel Parks and Emily Bell led the Lady Eagles to a 15- 10 advantage in the third quarter. The Lady Eagles closed out the Lady Vikes with an 8-6 score in the fourth period.

Lexington once again had problems at the charity stripe as they made only five of 12 onepoint shots.

Parks and Bell led the scoring with 12 and 11 points respectively. Mackenzie Brown had six, Rachel Clark 2, and Miranda Jones 2 to complete the Lady Eagle scoring.
