The Texas Mounted Shooter, the local chapter of the Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association (CMSA), announced recently that they will hold their End of the Winter Blast competition in Giddings at the Lee County Sheriff’s Posse Arena. The event will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2011.

Some of the state’s top riders and horses will be competing in a non- stop, high- speed, action riding and shooting contest that promises to “thrill you all the way down to your boots.”

In Brief - Cowboy Mounted Shooting is the fastest growing equine sport in the nation. Mounted contestants compete in this fast action timed event using two .45 caliber single action revolvers each loaded with five rounds of specially prepared blank ammunition.
